A living archive of resilience
The Rabindra Sarovar Dinajpur Peoples' Puja Sammilani stands as a testament to the enduring human spirit. Our Puja began as a sacred vow by a group of friends displaced from their ancestral homes in Opaar Bangla — now Bangladesh — during the chaos of the 1947 partition.
When they finally found their footing in West Bengal, they fulfilled that promise in 1969, honouring the divine will that guided them through a nation's rupture. The celebration became a bridge between the displaced and the compassionate residents of the Rabindra Sarovar neighbourhood, stitching together a sense of belonging amidst the fragments of a country falling apart.
Now entering our 57th year, we continue to celebrate a home that was lost and painstakingly remade — through an unbreakable community bond that keeps growing, one Puja at a time.
